A set of 6 hand-coloured aquatints, all window-mounted (76 x 103mm; 139 x 177mm. with mounts). Preserved in buckram chemise and matching quarter brown morocco clamshell case by the Lakeside Press, Chicago, spine with longitudinal title lettering between two raised bands and two sporting tools. Provenance: purchased from Spencer, London, 15 July 1937.

SIX EXQUISITE MINIATURE PLATES OF RACING, without title or imprint, but probably forming part of Ackermann’s ‘Sporting Medallions’ series. The title on the case reads: ‘Miniature Sporting Prints by Henry Alken (circa 1827).’ Spitzer p. 61.
