Graesse and Brunet remark on the rarity of Borromeo's works, Brunet noting that those published without publisher’s name were issued in a small number of copies at the cost of the author. This title probably formed part of a series of works in twelve volumes, some previously unpublished, issued soon after his death. Cf. Brunet I; 1120; Graesse, I-498.
