FIRST EDITION OF DIBDIN’S FIRST BOOK. THE ABBEY COPY WITH, LAID-IN, AN AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED to Rudolph Ackermann, asking to borrow ‘a few of your Cathedral prints – aquatint coloured – and any other striking thing – for my Conversazione tonight’, and closing ‘how do you like the sound of my “Magic Horn?”’. One of 500 copies, of which half are said to have been destroyed. ABPC records just two copies, the most recent sold in 1978. Jackson 1.
