A ZITAN RECTANGULAR BOX AND COVER
LATE QING DYNASTY, 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The rectangular case is constructed of well figured timber with a hinged cover and mounted sides of huangtong. The cover with a ruyi-shaped huangtong mount to each of the corners. Fitted with a bat-shaped mount to one side of the box, decorating the key hole, below a circular Shou medallion on the corresponding cover.
2 5/8 in. (6.7 cm.) high, 13 5/8 in. (34.5 cm.) wide, 6 3/4 in. (17 cm.) deep
