A DATED AND SIGNED BAMBOO ROOT LOTUS LEAF-FORM WASHER
QIANLONG INSCRIBED TWENTY-SIXTH YEAR, CORRESPONDING TO 1761 AND OF THE PERIOD
The irregularly-shaped washer is naturalistically carved utilising the shape of the bamboo root as a lotus leaf, the inverted inner rim with grooved marks and the exterior with leaf veins. The countersunk base is inscribed with a Qianlong twenty sixth year date and a signature of Yan Jicheng, followed by the seals Jicheng and Yan shi deren, 'the virtuous man of the Yan clan'.
