A FINELY CARVED AND INSCRIBED CHENGNI SQUARE WASHER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The square washer is finely incised in intaglio on three sides with various tranquil landscapes of West Lake in Hanzhou, on the fourth side with a seven-character eight-line poem inscribed in lishu accounting the author's trip to West Lake. The poem is followed by a Tongru Daoren signature and a square seal.
