Tasting note: Cabernet Franc 55% and Merlot 45%. Tasted from the cask, June 2001, in the underground cave with Alain Vauthier who told me that in future he is going to include Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Carmenere in the blend. Very deep, velvety, intense; glorious fruit and spice. Very good indeed, the oak giving the wine a distinct taste of cloves, good length. A superb Ausone (*****) Long life. M.B.
