QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The porcelain bowl with deep rounded sides is lined with cinnabar lacquer on the exterior, carved in relief with the characters Wanshou Wujiang, 'Boundless Longeivity', each within a medallion formed by a band of ruyi heads, below elaborate lotus sprays interspersed with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, Bajixiang, all below a ruyi-head border encircling the mouth rim, which is capped with a gilt-metal band. The interior is covered in an even turquoise enamel.
