A WHITE JADE COCKEREL-FORM PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The pebble is carved in the round depicting a cockerel with finely detailed plumage, its head turned back. Grasped a spray of lingzhi in its beak, the spray interetwined with another sprig bearing begonia blossoms and double-gourds. The softly polished stone is of an even white tone with a natural fissure on the reverse and small areas of russet.
