AN OLD BABYLONIAN POTTERY JAR
CIRCA EARLY 2ND MILLENNIUM B.C.
Light grey in color, of slightly tapering cylindrical form, with a wide neck and a rounded overhanging rim, the underside recessed, with four vertical pierced lugs on the shoulders and corresponding pierced holes below, with incised geometric ornament including a band on the body divided into four zones, two containing two ducks in profile to the right
4 7/16 in. (11.3 cm.) high
