A LURISTAN BRONZE SPOUTED JAR
CIRCA 9TH-7TH CENTURY B.C.
The globular body on a disk foot, with a cylindrical neck, a flaring rim and a curving spout terminating in the head of a lion, the details incised, with a small frontal mask behind the feline ears, two concentric rows of bosses encircling the spout, pinned in place, a winged bearded male figure with outstretched arms on the body opposite the spout, the wings terminating in lion heads
6 7/8 in. (17.4 cm.) high, including spout
