STATUE DE GUANYIN EN PORCELAINE DEHUA
CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, XVIIEME-XVIIIEME SIECLE
The Goddess of Mercy is modelled with downcast eyes and wears long, loosely flowing robes that enfold her hands but are open at the chest to reveal a beaded necklace. Her hair is tied in a topknot beneath a cowl and she is seated on a base incised with a linear design. The reverse is impressed with a double gourd seal with the maker's mark He Chaochun. The figure is offered together with the book Blanc de Chine, P.J.Donnelly, London, 1969.
