拍品專文

This pair of lantern can be compared to a similar one photographed in situ and illustrated in Palaces of the Forbidden City, Hong Kong, 1986, p. 304, pl. 455, where two hanging lanterns of this type are also illustrated, pls. 456 and 457. A pair of hanging lanterns with a similar combination of painted glass panels in enamelled metal frames can be seen in the former sleeping quarters of the emperors Tongzhi and Guangxu in the Forbidden City in Beijing, illustrated by Wan Yi, Wang Shuqing and Lu Yanzheng, Qingdai Gongting Shenghuo, 1985, pl. 172.
