Original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt (some chips to foot of spine, gilt lettering somewhat faded). Provenance: Robert Cecil (pencil signature on front free endpaper; an autograph note from Anthony Hobson identifies this as Lord Robert Cecil (1864-1958)). FIRST EDITION. PMM 423. Loosely-inserted is a one-page autograph letter from the author, dated 17.6.27., stating, “Dear Mortimer, Can you dine with us here on Tuesday June 26 at 8pm? I have enjoyed immensely your recent contributions to The Nation. Yours sincerely, J.M. Keynes.” With the same author’s A Revision of the Treaty being a Sequel to The Economic Consequences of the Peace (London, 1922, original cloth, FIRST EDITION, the front free endpaper signed “Robert Cecil” in ink).
