The openwork frame signed 'Baguelin a Versailles', raised on toupie feet above a black marble plinth, the white enamel dial with hours and minutes, centre seconds, date and day with corresponding symbol, moonphase dial above, the three train movement with deadbeat escapement quarter striking on two bells and countwheel hour strike on larger bell, the gridiron nine-bar pendulum with knife-edge suspension; later glass shade
