AN IMPORTANT EARLY PHILADELPHIA DIRECTORY. This constitutes the first Philadelphia directory published under the new Constitution. A listing of “Officers of the Government” on pp.148-150 includes George Washington, residing at 190 High Street, and his secretary Tobias Lear.
