AN EARLY LINCOLN LEGAL. “Abraham Lincoln being first duly sworn, states on oath that he is informed and verily believes that Edward H. Sparrow, one of the Defendants to Bill in Chancery in the court of said county wherein George Wagner is complainant and William Porter, James Donell, Hosea Jackson and said Sparrow are Defendants residing out of this State.” Beneath is an endorsement: “Subscribed to and sworn to before me this 10th day of August 1841...for James H. Matheny.”
