Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate dated October, 2004, Patek Philippe leather envelope, and product literature.

Reference 5059 was launched in 1998 and produced through 2006. Along with the reference 5050, they were the only watches produced in that period by Patek Philippe that featured a retrograde date. Reference 5059 was also the first model since references 2497 and 2438/1 to feature sweep seconds with a perpetual calendar.

Approximately 600 examples of the reference 5059 were produced in yellow gold, with only 150 examples produced in each of the other metals; pink gold, white gold, and platinum.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
