Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with sunburst metallic blue dial in 1990 and its subsequent sale on January 24th, 1991. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe presentation box and outer packaging.

The Ellipse created in 1968, was inspired by the Golden Section, also known as divine proportion, the mathematical ratio of homogenous size symbolizing the perfect equilibrium of shapes. The Ellipse is recognized as a true classic of modern Patek Philippe production.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
