Swiss. A Silver Singing Bird Box
Unsigned, Circa 1860
Brass movement, stacked cams, fly regulator and rectangular bellows, all within decorated rectangular box, the top with chased and engraved putti, floral and foliage decoration, slide lever to open the hinged oval cover decorated with engraved putti and lyre, opening to reveal a finely pierced and engraved scroll decorated grille and to release the colorfully plumed bird, painted head and beak, rotating on its axis, chirping, flapping its wings, all sitting on four rounded feet
