Atkinsons of London is a British perfume house founded in 1799 by James Atkinson, who traveled to London from Cumberland with detailed recipes for toiletries and fragrances, a bear's grease balm and a real bear, who became a mascot for the shop. Notable customers included King George IV, who gave the firm his Royal Warrant, the Duke of Wellington, Admiral Lord Nelson, Beau Brummell, Sarah Bernhardt, the Tsar of Russia and the King of Italy.
