Each modeled naturalistically as a catch, the pocket formed as four fish resting in a net issuing an eel, bulrushes, lilypads and a yellow water hyacinth

Lot Essay

Gustave de Bruyn was a potter from Flanders arriving first in Beauvaise around 1870, and then working in Fives-Lille. He is recorded as a producer of majolica aux portes de Lille, 22, rue de l'Esperance, circa 1900.
