Volume III only, 2° (511 x 334mm). Text in German, mounted on guards throughout. Engraved architectural title with letterpress overslip and 62 engraved maps, of which 58 double-page and 4 in text, all coloured by a contemporary hand. (Tiny marginal hole to title, light browning and spotting with occasional staining throughout, heavier to a few gatherings, 2 small holes to 3V1-2 with loss of a couple of letters, very minor old marginal paper repairs to 3T2 and 3V1.) Contemporary vellum panelled in gilt, gilt edges, green silk ties (sometime recased with later endpapers, soiling, extremities rubbed, gilded arabesque on lower cover partially worn away). Provenance: Johann, King of Saxony (1801-1873; crowned monogram in margin of title) — Saxon State and University Library, Dresden (deaccession stamp).
Original German edition containing 58 maps of Italy and 4 of Greece. Without the Appendix of 24 maps sometimes found in other variant issues. Van der Krogt, II, 2:232.3J (incorrectly stating that this copy lacks the title).
