Lot Essay

The design of the film transport movement suggests a manufacturing date of c.1896-1898.

According to the vendor the camera was used to photograph the Yorkshire Light Infantry at Goole station when leaving for the 1914 war (although the camera considerable pre-dates this). The camera was formerly the property of a Goole photographic firm.
