AN ITALIAN SILVER-GILT CIBORIUM, PISSIDE
APPARENTLY UNMARKED, 18TH CENTURY, THE ASSOCIATED COVER PROBABLY 19TH CENTURY
Chased with shells and leafage to the cover, with cross finial, the bowl held in a pierced acanthus-leaf calyx, the stem and foot chased with angel heads, fruit and scrollwork; another Italian silver ciborium with an associated cover, ciborium marked with a B and a rampant lion, probably Brescia, 18th century, the cover with maker's mark FM (sans serif); another unmarked silver ciborium, 18th century, of small size, plain except for an acanthus-leaf calyx under the body; a gilt-metal ciborium, decorated with fluting and leafage, probably 19th century; and an Italian parcel-gilt silver chalice, apparently unmarked, probably 18th century, chased in relief with winged angel heads and bunches of fruit
