CASE: the drum case supported by a magot figure and infant on a naturalistic ground with mostly French 18th century porcelain flowerheads and foliage overall, DIAL: the white enamel dial signed 'Etienne / LE NOIR' and signed by the enameller 'Bezelle' to the reverse, MOVEMENT: the twin barrel movement with numbered countwheel strike to bell and later converted with balance wheel lever escapement, further signed to the backplate 'Ene. Le noir a paris'

Etienne II Lenoir (1699-1778), established his workshop in 1717. His son Pierre Etienne joined him from 1750 and they succeeded in building a considerable fortune.
