'Painting is feeling. Just as much as a sentence describes, so a sequence of colours describes. When I paint it is an affair of instinct and intuition. I feel shape and colours inside myself. I have the feel of the work rather than the vision of it. The picture is completed when the plastic form of this feel has made its appearance'
