the case with handle to the bell top and later brass ball finials to the angles (one lacking), gilt-metal quarter frets to the front door, foliate cut-brass arched sound frets to the sides, on brass bracket feet, the silvered dial with black-painted chapters, subsidiary calendar ring in the centre and strike/silent in the arch, signed John Longhurst KINGSTON, the five pillar twin gut fusee movement now with anchor escapement, strike on bell, the backplate engraved with a swag-hung urn, with further engraving to the movement securing brackets -- 17¾in.(45cm.) high
