the break arch case with figure of Mercury to the stepped top and elongated finials to the front, arched pierced sound frets to the sides, young terms trailing flowerheads to the chamfered front angles, on scroll feet, the arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring and matted centre, floral spandrels, slow/fast and chime/silent rings in the arch with sun mask, the German twin barrel movement with anchor escapement and ting-tang strike on two gongs to the backplate stamped for W & H -- 22in.(56cm.) high
