the arched case with lancet top with gilt-brass pineapple finial, arched fish scale sound frets to the sides with ring handles above, on brass ball feet, the white-painted dial with black-painted Roman chapters and signature for ROB TYLER LONDON in the arch (rubbed), the associated triple train wire fusee movement with anchor escapement and pin barrel chimes on eight bells and hour strike on further bell, the backplate elaborately engraved with foliate scrolls around an urn and a chinoiserie mask within a hatched border, signed George Tyler LONDON, lacking glass to rear door, case and dial circa 1840, movement adapted & circa 1700 -- 22¾in.(58cm.) high
