the hood with brass-capped swan-neck pediment centred by a displayed eagle resting on an orb, outset ringed and baluster columns, with wavy-top door to the trunk with chamfered sides, on panelled plinth with bracket feet, the white-painted dial with scene painted en grisaille to the arch depicting a ruined castle, the spandrels depicting other buildings, with subsidiary seconds and calendar rings, dial extensively rubbed, the fur pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, associated, English, first half 19th century -- 93in.(236cm.) high
