the hood with broken arch pediment centred by a turned urn finial, reeded cornice and outset fluted columns, the trunk with conforming pilasters and wavy-arched door with satinwood line inlay, panel below, on block plinth with later skirting, the 13in.(33cm.) square brass dial with later cherub mask and foliate scroll spandrels, brass chapter ring, subsidiary seconds to the matted centre with ringed winding holes, signed on a plaque John Narney DUBLIN, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, on later seatboard, Irish, early 19th century -- 88½in.(225cm.) high
