the hood with swan-neck pediment (adapted) and outset baluster columns with dentil-moulded cornices and bats' wing paterae above, with arched trunk door, late 18th century; with an associated modern brass dial with silvered chapter ring, foliate and mask spandrels, engraved centre with seconds ring and silvered calendar aperture, bearing the signature B. GURDEN DAVENTRY, with silvered disc in the arch depicting a dispalyed eagle, with dolphin spandrels; with four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, late 18th century; composite and associated -- 85½in.(217cm.) high
