the hood with swan-neck pediment and brass urn finials surmounted by displayed eagles, outset brass-capped Corinthian columns, conforming pilasters to the trunk, with line inlay to the wavy trunk door and cross-banding above, on plinth with reeded chamfered sides, quatrefoil panel, on bracket feet, the painted Arabic dial with rolling moon (alternating with a nightwatchman) in the arch, spandrels depicting women allegorical of the seasons, subsidiary calendar and seconds rings, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, seatboard replaced, probably associated -- 94½in.(240cm.) high
