Each vessel depicting a mountainous river landscape scene accompanied by an inscription; the water pot inscription that may be translated as ' The lake Taihu during late autumn drawn in honour of Lady Wa of the Shu family, Wu Jie'; the brush pot inscription that may be translated as 'This autumn landscape was drawn in honour of Lady Wu Jie Wa from the Shu family', each base with an iron-red seal mark reading taishan taishan
