Lot Essay

This lot consists of three paintings.

A native of Jiexi, Guangdong province, Xu Dixin (1906-1988) graduated from the National Shanghai Business School in 1933 and joined the Communist Party, serving as Minister of Culture the following year. He was editor of the newspapers Xinhua Daily and Masses, director of the State Administration, president of Shantou University, and vice president of the Chinese Social and Economic Research Institute.
