Of shallow circular form, the rounded body and slightly everted rim with thick gadrooned loop handles, the body with star and crescent patterns, one line of inscription in cursive script, possibly Malayalam

Lot Essay

Large cauldrons such as ours are used to prepare payasam, a rice based dish sweetened with jaggery and coconut milk. It is then served as an offering to the Gods in Hindu temples during rituals and ceremonies.
