THREE POTTERY BOTTLES
SAFAVID IRAN, 17TH AND 18TH CENTURY
The first a Gombroon globular bottle, on short straight foot, with flaring mouth, the incised decoration with hanging medallions with stylised flower heads, interspersed with a band of loose chevrons below; the second a lavender-blue glazed flask with moulded trefoil and elegant floral sprays; the third a bottle, on plain base, of square section, with later added straight neck and flaring rim, the blue and black decoration with flying cranes and rising floral sprays on stylised blue and white ground
The Gombroon bottle 5in. (12.8cm.) high; the flask 5 ¼in. (13cm.); the square bottle 4 ¾in. (12cm.) high
