In the form of a duck, its wings folded against the side of the body, its head bent down, the bill against its chest, the vessel mouth with cylindrical neck emerging from the top of its tail, the handle arching, details of bill, eyes and wings indicated in black

For a similar duck vessel cf. E. Simon, The Kurashiki Ninagawa Museum, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities, Mainz, 1982, p. 202, no. 136. According to Simon, "vessels of this kind were gifts, and the perfumed oil which they contained may well have been of higher value than the receptacles themselves".
