ATTRIBUTED TO THE PAINTER OF KARLSRUHE B9, CIRCA 350 B.C.
Moulded in the form of a bull's head with wide nostrils, the large eyes with black-painted iris and pupils, with wrinkled brows above, the forelock indicated by multiple incised lines between the short horns, alert ears below; the bowl with a nude winged Eros seated on a rocky outcrop, holding a bird on his lap, a draped female before him, wearing a long peplos and holding a laden phiale in her outstretched left hand, palmettes flanking the handle, band of dotted ovolo below the rim, details in added white and yellow
