Whilst the design of this table is essentially French and the form can be related to the work of leading Louis XVI menuisiers such as Jean-Baptiste-Calude Sené and Georges Jacob. However, the robust interpretation of the design suggests a different origin, possibly Spain, a link further reinforced by the Spanish origin of the (apparently original) coquillier di Bilbao top.
