Composed of seven removable parts, each partly covered with celadon eggshell lacquer imitating the traditional Song guan type glaze on Chinese ceramics, a poem reading ‘Pursuit gave and defined the pleasure to life, always inspiring with elegant poem to sing’ is carved in front of largest part; Shang Xia golden mark, Yong Qi and dated yi wei nian on the base.
