The text of this firman concerns the appointment of Isma'il bin 'Ali as the secretary to the Dar al-Sa'ada Aghasi and Overseer of the Waqf endowments made for the Holy Places in Mecca and Medina (Haremeyn-i Şerifeyn Evkaf Naziri) following the death of the former holder of the office, Mustafa Efendi. The Dar al-Sa'ada was the head of the eunuchs who guarded the Imperial Harem of the Ottoman Sultans in Constantinople.
The name of the Overseer to whom Isma'il bin 'Ali becomes secretary is given as Beshir Agha (Beşir Ağa), who cannot be the same as the famous Beshir Agha who died in 1746 or his successor Moralı Beshir Agha who was removed in 1752. He must be a later holder of the office with the same name.
