A GEMSET GOLD CHILD'S NECKLACE (HASLI)
NORTH INDIA, LATE 19TH CENTURY
Of circular form, the central band with inset diamonds and emeralds flanked by pearl borders, the reverse with a punched pattern of scrolling floral vine, nine drop-shaped hanging elements set with gemstones issuing strings of pearls and spinels, thin section at the back set with gemstones, a hinge at one end and a spinel-inset screw at the other, further smaller hanging elements of small emeralds and by turquoise enamel beads
