Each side with arched pediment centred by a fan finial flanked by cornucopia and florets above relief-carved strapwork, doves and arrow quivers, with basket-weave supports, above a pierced-acanthus rail on square tapering legs headed by masks and joined by a wavy stretcher, with pale-green and gold floral silk upholstery, regilt

This day-bed is inspired by the Louis XIV example illustrated in Louis XIV: Faste et Décors, Paris, 1960, Cat. 5. A similar, less ornate, day-bed sold from the collection of Maria Felix, Christie's, New York, 17-18 July 2007, lot 296 ($42,000).
