A BRASS QUATREFOIL LOBED EWER AND COVER
GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908)
Each lobed side is finely chased with an intricate decoration of a five-clawed dragon and phoenix flying amidst ruyi-shaped clouds, extending from one side of the body a dragon's head with its mouth agape, forming part of the spout. The flattened shoulder is further decorated with alternating panels of dragon and phoenix and set with a scroll-form handle arching over the circular cover also chased with a five-clawed dragon to the centre.
