A Victorian three-piece silver-gilt batchelor tea service
of moulded circular form, each decorated with foliage in the Indian manner and with a vacant cartouche, the teapot with rising curved spout, scroll handle and flute and foliate-decorated baluster finial, George Fox, London 1874 and 1875 - height of teapot 3¼in. (8.25cm.), with a pair of similarly-decorated silver-gilt teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs, George Adams, London 1874 and 1875, in a plush and satin-lined brass-bound rosewood case with vacant brass cartouche, the interior with a plate engraved with a retailer's name and address: "R.& S. Garrard & Co., Goldsmiths & Silversmiths to the Crown, Haymarket, London" - 17oz.
