of circular form and on foliate-capped lion's paw feet, with two wirework handles with foliate terminals and with two friezes of stylised foliage and berries, the interior with detachable liner to hold four eggs, the exterior fitted with twelve egg cups, the domed hinged cover decorated with a frieze of flowers and foliage and with stylised acorn finial, the marks unidentified, probably French the second half of the 19th Century - 10¾in.
