Lot Essay
'I paint nasturtiums; I also paint chimneys and electrical wiring. It's been said that the subject matter of my recent works are more delicate and softer than those of my previous work. This is a coincidence. Now I'm in a mood to pursue living things. In the past I would paint objects, like a chimney, a teapot on the stove and electrical wiring. Maybe one day I will see a chimney and be so overcome by its form and color that I end up painting chimneys for six months. It depends on my outlook, what I am enamored with - for example sycamores. I have seen them my whole life but suddenly I have seen them and felt them. Perhaps it has a childish reason... As far as color goes, I place a small amount on the palette and take off.'
