Lot Essay

With Breguet Certificat d'Origine et de Garantie signed 19 February 2009, instruction manual, product literature, fitted presentation box and outer packaging.

Created during the 1950's, the Type XX was initially a designation issued by the French Ministry of Defense to specific chronographs. Mandated to soldiers of the French Air Force and Navy, such wristwatches had to be highly accurate and encompass functions such as a flyback chronograph. The collaboration between the French army and Breguet later brought the Type XX chronograph to fame.

Re-released during the 1990's, Breguet decided to unveil a modern version of the iconic Type XX, later followed by the Type XXI and XXII models, as homage to the renowned 1950's chronograph. Through its rich history, timeless lines and aesthetics, the present wristwatch has kept its core identity and has imposed itself as a classic of the Breguet manufacture.
